Karl Tiefenbacher Navigating Wellington's Challenges: A Call for Affordability and Common Sense

I hope you're enjoying the start to 2024 and making the most of the warm summer days we are starting to get.

Wellington, is a an amazing, compact city. We've been lovingly referred to as absolutely positively wellington, the coolest little capital in the world, middle earth and some not so pleasant names recently. Wellington holds a special place in the hearts of many of its residents, myself included. But we're facing challenges that demand solutions and a fresh perspective. I'm not just wanting to point out the problems; I want real solutions! Wellington deserves better. We need to be more focussed on affordability and infrastructure improvements, and this requires better financially prudent spending. I'm here to listen and help find solutions.

As someone deeply invested in the city's well-being, I'm asking for your vote because Wellington deserves better. The current trajectory seems unsustainable, and I'm committed to bringing about a positive change.

My vision is built upon a strategic reassessment of our priorities. We need to actually listen to effected party's, ratepayers, retailers, hospitality and landlords so that we can make better decisions without compromising what makes Wellington quintessentially the coolest place to live.

A recent poll reflects the sentiment of over 95% of Wellingtonians, who were against the proposed changes to the "Golden mile ". We need to listen! The question asked, For or against spending 130 million+ on Lambton Quay?.

This isn't about resisting change; it's about making informed decisions that consider the well-being of everyone in our community. Let's get away from party politics, bipartisan, political alliance, controversy and distraction from what's important. Listen to our rate payers and communities and work towards a brighter and more affordable future for Wellington.

Please email me with your ideas: kar14wellington@gmail.com I am happy to hear from anyone regarding anything. Here's to better in 2024.
